If it your child’s birthday and they are
mad about horses this could be the perfect party for them.
Even If their friends haven’t ridden before we can show them
how and have great fun in the process.

- Hacking
We have some wonderful countryside in Hertfordshire for hacking. We provide hacks on a Saturday and Sunday, ranging from
just one hour to a full day, starting from £26 per hour.
Come on your own and join a hack, or arrange a hack with
family and friends!
All hacking riders must have the ability to control their horse on open roads in walk and trot. You may be required to attend an assessment lesson be your first hack

These will teach you all the basic skills enabling you to join in with our group lessons.

Safety always comes first. When we're hacking, all our riders
wear Hi-vis tabards and are led by one of our very experienced
horse riders, who also has a mobile phone which is switched
off but available in case of an emergency. |

You will need:
- a correctly fitted riding hat (to stantdards: BSEN1384 and/or PAS015)
- Long sleeved top
- long trousers (jeans are not recomended)
- boots or shoes with a flat sole and small heel (max heel 2cm high)
- Hi-Vis tabards are also required for hacking (These will be supplied)
We also recommend
- Gloves
- Body Protector (to stantard: BETA level 3)
- Jodhpurs or Breeches
- Half Chaps
We do offer riding hat hire - the rest you either
need to bring along with you or purchase from our on-site
shop. If you're not sure what you need to bring along
to a lesson at Courtlands, please telephone or email
us now.
Failiure to wear any of the above for the duration of your time with the horses may result in the management of Courtlands Riding Stables refusing to accept you for riding. Adjestable and substandard hats are not acceptable including hats over 3 years old. |
